融合各國飲食文化

新加坡飲食文化向來都是集各國之大成,加東新加坡餐廳深得精髓,以傳統的新加坡菜烹調手法炮製佳肴,既簡約又美味,在農歷新年其間,由年初一至年十五,大廚更將傳統融入創意,推出多款既美味且意頭十足的賀年菜,例如海蜇雞絲撈起,以海蜇雞絲伴以蔬菜絲,再用紅包裝上玉桂粉及胡椒粉伴碟,示意新一年大家「撈」得風山水起!當然還不能缺少鮑魚與雞,大廚精製的薑蔥鮑魚雞煲,在爆香蔥、薑、蒜和干蔥之後,放進鮑魚一起炒,香氣先聲奪人,鮑魚口感軟滑帶嫩、調味鹹香適中,分外惹味。

風味獨特星州佳餚

除了鮑魚、雞、扇貝等賀年必備佳餚之外,餐廳亦將新加坡菜的精萃融入賀年菜式之中,當中肉骨茶絕對是必點菜式,在冷冷的天氣,來碗肉骨茶溫暖脾胃,蒜頭與白胡椒融合中藥香料的味道,吃過一次就讓你沉溺在這樣的香氣裡,且加東的肉骨茶經師傅三小時熬製,真材實料,味道濃郁。

至於用上傳統馬來西亞風味亞參烹煮的亞參蒸花尾躉則是另一別具風味的美點,貴為斑中之王的龍躉,又名花尾龍躉,肉爽味鮮,一向深受饕客喜愛;參峇炒雜菜亦是新加坡的傳統名菜,口感微辣帶點酸甜,提神之余又刺激味蕾,大大提升食慾!

Singapore dishes always reflect the cultural diversity of Singapore and Malaysia. Chefs of Katong Corner cook the food in a traditional, simple and tasty manner. For the upcoming first day to the 15th day of the Chinese New Year (16 February – 2 March), the restaurant will launch several auspicious and delicious dining offerings with creativity, including Prosperity Lou Hei with Jellyfish, shredded chicken and vegetables, altogether with cinnamon and pepper. Abalones and chickens are essential for Chinese New Year celebration, hence the chef will fry the onion, ginger and garlic with abalones to create Abalones and Chicken with Ginger and Scallion in Casserole with a fantastic aroma, texture and seasoning.

Apart from abalones, chickens and scallops, the restaurant’s Singapore dishes are also palatably presented. One must not miss Bak Kut Teh at Katong Corner, which is superb in a cold weather with a 3-hour cooking of the garlic, pepper and a variety of herbs in the strong flavoured soup.

Another dish Steamed Grouper with Asam Sauce is full of traditional Malay flavour and enjoys huge popularity, which uses the giant grouper, nicknamed “the king of grouper” with fresh and delicate flavours. Stir-fried Assorted Vegetables with Sambal and Garlic is one of the famous traditional Singapore dishes that is a little bit spicy, sweet and sour, surely refreshing and appetizing.
